FAQs
Why MetroWest College Advising?
As a small, locally owned college consulting practice based in Natick, MA, we offer highly personalized support that larger national firms simply can’t match. We work one-on-one with each student and family to make the college planning process less overwhelming.
Families trust us because we provide:
Tailored guidance based on your student’s goals, interests, and strengths
Hands-on support with college lists, essays, applications, and timelines
Cost-conscious planning, including help with FAFSA, CSS Profile, and merit-based scholarships
A trusted relationship, not a revolving door of advisors
What is the benefit of working with a college advisor?
The college admissions process has become increasingly complex, competitive, and time-consuming. A professional college consultant helps families navigate it with clarity, confidence, and strategy.
Here’s why working with a college consultant can make a real difference:
Expert Guidance: We stay up to date on admissions trends, essay expectations, test policies, and financial aid rules so your student gets accurate, relevant advice at every step.
Individualized Strategy: Every student is different. A college consultant helps build a personalized college list, recommend majors, and guide decisions that reflect each student’s strengths and goals
Less Stress, More Structure: From timelines to deadlines, we help students stay on track, motivated, and organized.
Stronger Applications: We help students craft compelling essays, refine résumés, prepare for interviews, and showcase their unique story to admissions officers.
Smarter Financial Planning: Consultants guide families through FAFSA, scholarships, and financial aid strategies to help make college more affordable.
When should we begin working together?
Ideally, students begin working with us as early as 9th or 10th grade—when there’s still time to shape academic choices, extracurriculars, and summer plans that align with college goals. However, it’s never too late to benefit from personalized support. We regularly help juniors and seniors navigate every stage of the process, from building college lists to submitting applications and applying for financial aid. Starting early gives students more time, less stress, and greater clarity—but we meet every student where they are.
What is the pricing structure?
At MetroWest College Advising, we believe college planning should be personalized, flexible, and affordable. Unlike larger advising companies that push expensive, one-size-fits-all packages, we customize our services to fit your family’s specific needs.
We start with a free consultation, where we take the time to get to know you and your student. From there, we recommend only the support that’s truly helpful—whether it's guidance on building a college list, essay coaching, or full application assistance. You’re never locked into a long-term contract, and you only pay for what you need.
